Virginia M. George

Virginia M. George, passed away on January 17, 2021 of pneumonia at Kobacker House. As a teen, she clerked for a U.S. Army Colonel and sang for fun at the Deshler Hotel and Neil House as a Corelli model while ladies lunched. A graduate of Capital University, she refereed pro and college volleyball while a student. With a B.S. in Education, she taught school in Maine, Cleveland and her native Columbus, Ohio. Roles at AT&T in Cost Control and International Marketing followed. Volunteer and member: McConnell Heart Health Center, 14 years. Member: Denzare-Trio and Indian Springs dance clubs, Columbus Maennerchor, Upper Arlington Sr. Center, Old Trinity Lutheran Church and Upper Arlington Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. George. She is survived by daughters, K. George and Sandra George. Private cremains interment at Old North Church, Boston. A virtual memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, February 28, 2021 in lieu of the in-person service at the church. You may attend through your computer, tablet, smart phone or land-line-house-phone. The service will begin at 3 o'clock, but a ten-minute photo slide show will play before the start of the service and during the post service virtual reception.
