Virginia Lee Bolen, age 94, of Granville, Ohio, formerly New Albany and Columbus, Ohio, passed away on March 1, 2021, at her residence. Born in Coshocton, Ohio, on January 10, 1927, she was a daughter of the late William and Zelma Jones Zugschwert. Virginia was the devoted wife of Ralph Eugene Bolen. Virginia is survived by her sister-in-law, Patricia Zugschwert, and her nieces and nephews who lovingly called her “Aunt Honey”: John Merchant (Margueret) of Toronto, Canada, Bonnie Miller of Florida, Linda Jarvis (Chris) of Texas, Vicki Martin, Jeanne Stewart (Bob), Sharon Simon (Terry), Paul Zugschwert (Debbie), Ralph Zugschwert (Lori), Diana Conrad (Charlie), and Sue Lilly (Woody), all of Ohio. She was predeceased by her sister Patricia Merchant and her brothers William and Paul Zugschwert. Virginia was employed for over 28 years at Nationwide Insurance Company, retiring as an Executive Secretary in 1972. She was a former member of the Maize Manor United Methodist Church. She also volunteered for many years at TWIG, supporting the Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Virginia loved to party, hosting family and friends, and of course a long competitive game of cards with much laughter. Private family funeral services will be held. Burial will take place at South Lawn Cemetery, Coshocton, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Road, Newark, OH 43055. The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at the Kendal at Granville.
