December 8, 1954 - December 14, 2020
Susan Lange Dulin, 66, of Gahanna, Ohio passed away December 14, 2020 after a courageous battle with breast cancer . She was born December 8, 1954 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, grew up in Mount Prospect, Illinois. She graduated from Prospect High School in 1973. She attended both University of Wisconsin Whitewater and Northern Illinois University where she was a Chi Omega. Following college, Susan worked for over 30 years in the banking industry. She spent most of her time at Bank One/Chase and ended her career at The Delaware County Bank and Trust Company. She adored each of her customers and truly enjoyed seeing them each day. Susan dedicated her life to her daughter, Ashley and more recently her grandkids, Hunter and Sophie. They were the reason she did everything in her life. If she wasn't with them in person, she could be found on Facetime or talking to them on the phone any hour of the day or night. As important as they were to her, she was even more special to them. If the sun was shining, she could be found lounging outside or in a pool reading a good book. She loved reading and could get through books in record time. Susan loved to travel to warm, sunny places and her most favorite were St. Maarten and Hawaii. Recently, she found joy in her garden and loved to enjoy the fruits of her labor. Susan will be remembered for so many things but her strength and bravery are among the most recognized. She always put others before herself and loved giving. She never wanted to be a burden, never asked for help and over the past 15 years she never let cancer stop her or get in her way. Her desire to live each day was insurmountable and admirable. Susan is preceded in passing by her parents, Bill and Dorothy Lange and Uncle Bob Sneed. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and best friend Ashley (Nick Smith) Dulin-Smith of New Albany, her pride and joys-grandson Hunter and granddaughter Sophie Smith, her husband, Mike Hesson of Gahanna, stepchildren Joe and Mindy Hesson of Columbus, brother Steve Lange and Sister-in-Law Vie Radek of Eugene, Oregon and Ashley's dad, John Dulin of Seattle, Washington. Her family was small and mighty but her memories will live on with her cousins, Randi, Peter, Mark and Scott, and Aunt Carolyn. She will also be remembered by her extended Hesson and Messner families. A special thanks to Dr. Jeffrey VanDeusen, MD, Ph.D, of The Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, and his entire team for the outstanding care and support they provided for Susan as well as the amazing team at Capital City Hospice, especially Britney and Madison. Visitation will take place Sunday, December 20th, 2020 from 1pm-4pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 East Johnstown Road, Gahanna, OH, 43230, with a funeral service at 4:30pm. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance at the service will be limited to family only. For those wishing to be present in spirit, a live webcast of the funeral service will be available on her Tribute Wall tab shortly before the funeral service begins. Masks are required in the building for all attendees, and attendance will be monitored in compliance with social distancing regulations.
