June 19, 1955 - September 19, 2021
Marianne May Ngan Tang Lau, age 66, of Westerville, OH, passed away peacefully in her home next to her loved ones and close friends on Sunday, September 19, 2021. She was born in Hong Kong on June 19, 1955 to Wing Tang and Yin Kwan Wong. Marianne graduated from Belilios Public School and earned a diploma in Banking at Hong Kong Polytechnic while working full time at a bank. She met her second half on a trip to South China and then they fell in love with each other. They got married and Marianne followed her husband to Scotland where they lived in Glasgow to begin a new life. The 2 years living in Scotland was the happiest moment for this couple. Outside of the working days, they spent time traveling around Scotland, castle to castle. In 1990, Marianne and her husband migrated to Canada and she put in all her effort to take care of her family while working for an insurance company. In 1999, her husband was recruited by a US company. The couple again decided to try a new life in the United States. Upon arrival in USA, Marianne decided to plan her education goal to complete a Bachelors degree in Accounting. In 2002, our beloved son, Ted, was born. She focused her energy on her education and took care of the family and house. Soon after Marianne graduated from Franklin University, she worked in an accounting firm and had a great appraisal year. Marianne was diagnosed with Alzheimer disease in the age of 58. Our family and friends, along with the Alzheimer’s Association, were able to support her in her fight against the disease. Marianne was a hard-working individual and loved to learn and read Chinese books. Everywhere Marianne was she was always seen smiling and laughing. She loved traveling and has visited five continents: Asia, Australia, Europe, North America and South America. In 2018, with the help of her family, she was able to fulfill her dream trip to New Zealand. Marianne’s favorite foods included blueberry muffins, mint chocolate chip ice cream, and oatmeal with raisins and walnuts. She loved Chinese Artists like Teresa Teng and Jacky Cheung and English Artists like the Beatles and Bee Gees. Her favorite English songs included “All My Loving” by the Beatles, “One Day” by John Rowles, and “All of Me” by John Legend. Although Marianne has no regret for her life anymore, the people she touched will always remember her and the way she lit up every room with smiles. May the god be with her and bring her happiness forever. Marianne is survived by her son Ted, whose inspiration to become a future doctor stems from his love and appreciation for his mom along with the unified feeling of the need to help others get the proper healthcare they need. A Funeral service is scheduled at 10:30 am on Friday, September 24th 2021 in Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 N. High St. A livestream of the funeral can be viewed at www.Schoedinger.com.
