February 24, 1931 - November 17, 2020
Junie Salyer, 89, of Whitehall, OH, entered her Heavenly home on November 17, 2020 at Mount Carmel St. Ann's Hospital surrounded by her children. She was born on February 24, 1931 in Johnson County, Kentucky to the late Tom and Gypsy Blevins Goble. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Jessie Salyer; son Ronald Dean Salyer; brothers Virgil Goble and William Goble; sisters Marie Hall, Bertha Music, Elva Blevins, and Golda Webb. She is survived by her children Carolyn Clevenger and Robert (Karen) Salyer; her grandchildren Jennifer (Tom) Greer, Pam (Cierra) Fuller, Justin (Michelle) Clevenger, Kaylin (Matt) Stelzer, Christina Clevenger, Alivia Salyer, and Joshua Salyer; great-grandchildren Ryan, Riley, AvaNell, Kinslee, Emery, Elizabeth, Avery, Hadley, and Everly. Junie will be remembered for her devotion to her Lord and Savior and her steadfast faith. She loved going to church and served the Lord as a Sunday School teacher and a Student leader. Visiting Ohio caverns, going to southern gospel concerts and listening to the "Old Gospel Ship" on Saturday evenings were things she so enjoyed. Junie will also be remembered for her devotion to her husband of 68 years. They were always together no matter what they were doing. She loved raising her family and family was everything to her. Junie's heart overwhelmed with joy when her family was around. On any given day, if Junie wasn't cooking or cleaning, she would be found working on her seek-n-find books, feeding and talking to stray cats that became her own, watching birds outside her window, eating Dum Dum suckers or candy, or watching Little House on the Prairie, Texas Walker, Hallmark movies or the Animal Planet channel. We want to express our heart-felt appreciation to the staff at New Albany Rehabilitation Center, Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living where Junie resided the last few years. Those who provided such wonderful care have found a deep place in our hearts. Thank you for taking such good care of her. A visitation will be held at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, Sunday 4-7pm. Masks will be required and social distancing observed. A private funeral will be held Monday at 11:00. Please join the family via webcast by visiting www.schoedinger.com . Interment will follow at the Glen Rest Memorial Estate, Reynoldsburg, OH.
