November 8, 1961 - November 28, 2020
Angelika McClure, age 59, of Westerville, Ohio passed away with her family at her bedside on November 28th, 2020. Geli, as she was known, was born in Kitzingen, Germany on November 8, 1961 and was a dedicated wife of 31 years, mother, and grandmother. She spent 24 years focused on raising their daughters while traveling between Europe and the United States with her husband, an honored army serviceman. As a military spouse, she was active in the family support groups and bravely continued to raise her children alone, as her husband was often deployed. If anyone knew Geli, you knew she was strong willed, opinionated and outspoken. She was a "take me as I am" type of woman that everyone grew to love and respect. Geli was always the life of the party with her sailor mouth, hysterical loud laughing, and all of her side jokes. She enjoyed swimming, walking at High Banks Metro Park, baking, traveling the world with her best friend, and making homemade crafts such as soaps and candles. She was proud of being a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) and graduated in 2008. Seeing her favorite classic rock bands perform live (such as the Scorpions and Rolling Stones) in addition to traveling with her husband, John, brought her so much happiness. They were lucky to have many adventures together over the years, Jamaica being her favorite. Being on a beach with her toes in the sand, listening to the ocean and the smell of the salt air mixed with pineapple/coconut sunscreen was her happy place. Her furry cat friends, Chapetto (Chapstick) and Olivia (Livi), (and many others over the years) held a special place in her heart. Family time during holidays and birthdays brought out the most enjoyment for her, as she loved decorating parties (which always included homemade pinatas), baking cakes, and making each gathering memorable and special for the ones she loved. Geli's children and grandchildren are truly what she lived for. There is nothing in this world she wouldn't give to make anyone of them happy, even if that included sacrificing what she wanted. She is survived by her husband, retired Sergeant Major John McClure and daughters Natalie Ebert, companion of Chris Cranston, and Jennifer Coffey, wife of Matthew Coffey, both of Delaware, Ohio. In addition she is survived by her mother, Rita Bieler, of Tullow, Ireland; brother Steven Bieler, of Tullow, Ireland; sister Gabriele St. Louis of Iphofen, Germany; sister Marion Veres, wife of John Veres, from Grosslangheim, Germany; brother Michael Link of Kitzingen, Germany; sisters and brothers in law: Pamela Pennington of New Market, Maryland; Paula Housenick, wife of Tom, of Shickshinny, Pennsylvania; Doug McClure, husband of Maggie McClure, of Loganville, Georgia and Lisa Czapracki of Coatesville, Pennsylvania. She has 6 wonderful grandchildren: Makenzi, Rosemary, Mia, Simon, Maxwell and Calvin, along with several nieces and nephews.
