read full obituaryCarl Hoffman: I was a childhood friend of Larry and Kris who had lived next door to them on Town Street. Larry and I became great friends at a very young age and I accompanied him with his parents to their vacation home on Lake White many times. I did not find out about the passing of Larry until this week since I now live in Texas. My sister emailed and sent me his obituary. After receiving her email, my mind kept wandering back to when Larry and I were growing up in the 50s and 60s. I recall his rock 'n roll band he formed while in high school where he played the drums. I don't recall the name of the band but I accompanied he and his band on a couple of gigs. Larry was the toughest individual I ever knew. He remained positive, upbeat, and humorous no matter what the circumstances were. Larry inherited that from his dad, Tony. I am sorry I missed the opportunity to talk to him or see him for the last time. The last time I saw him was in the late 70s at the Pumpkin Show. As I look back I will always remember that smile and his quick wit. Rest in peace my friend. I have also written a tribute to my friend Larry on my blog. http://www.the60sofficialsite.com/blog
Denise (Denny Kegg: I am Larry's wife. We met in 1970 and were married in 1975. I was by his side at work everyday, at home, pretty much liked it that way. People often asked why when we were both going to work, why did we usually drive seperate cars? Because that was usually the only time we were alone, and when we got home it was easier to switch from business mode back to family mode - to spending "real" time together - which was really all we ever wanted. Almost 40 years - that was not enough. I can count on ONE hand the times actually had a fight. In 40 years I can't recall him even raising his voice to me. That's a pretty good marriage. We were so in love, and he was such a great partner. I'm so alone now, I miss him so badly my heart is breaking and can't think straight. If anyone wants to talk about Larry or share a few memorys of happier times, please call. My Phone # is 740-420-0396. Parker and I were talking at Tony's social this evening and pointed out that we were unlisted. I was wondering why I had only heard from my wonderful neighbors who known us for over 30 years, and our staff - who were basically family. SO now you have the number - please call. Jessie Sherrick you are such a wonderful family and friend. Dave Wise - you were there on our first date - give me a call. There's at least a million funny memories out there and I could really use them right now.

Patrick Snets: Larry was a good boy and he had a BIG heart. He used to come and pick me up and take me somewhere in one of his Corvettes. We always had the top down! One time we had a car with the top completely off and the rain came…we just laughed, got it on and got home! Sometimes we’d just drive down to where his office was and I’d just mill around! He was a jewel!
Tony and his dad often came down to Florida to visit when his Uncle Bob and I had just moved there. Larry and Tony would go fishing…and it was always great to have them visit. I have missed him for a couple of years now…since he got sick. It is hard to think that he is gone.

Cindy Smith - Butler: I took my son to Larry for orthotics when he was just little and he was always excited to see Matt and always made us laugh. What a joy it was to visit him and Denny. Rest in peace Larry and my thoughts are with the family at this time.
